PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING OF SCOOPS, SPOONS AND TROLLEY

  • OBJECTIVE:
  • To lay down the procedure for cleaning of Scoops, Spoons and Trolleys.
  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for the procedure for cleaning of Scoops, Spoons and Trolleys at {Company Name} {Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • WH Executive/Designee – is responsible for ensuring compliance with the SOP.
  • Head Warehouse is responsible for compliance of the SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

  QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
  • Used scoops, spoons and utensils shall be collected in the polybag, and affixed with “TO BE CLEANED” status label and shall be transferred to the respective washing area in a trolley.
  • Scrub the inner and outer surface thoroughly with nylon scrubber/brush and wash with potable water till there is no visible residue of previous product/material.
  • Again, clean the scoops, spoons and utensils with potable water and drain the water.
  • Give a final rinse with Purified Water.Remove the excess water by wiping with dry lint free cloth.
  • Wipe with lint free cloth, soaked in 70% IPA, and allow them to air dry.Dried scoops, spoons and utensils shall be stored in designated place after putting them in poly bags duly labelled with “CLEANED”.
  • Check the physical defects if any, then affix the cleaned status label.
  • If found any physical defects don’t use the scoop for any further materials.
  • If the cleaned scoops, spoons and utensils are not used for a period of 6 days (It can be vary as per cleaned equipment hold time study), they shall be re-cleaned before use as per procedure mentioned above.
  • Cleaning of trolley used for carrying the dispensing, shall be done as follows:
  • The trolleys shall be cleaned after emptying the materials at wash area.
  • Clean the total surface of trolley thoroughly by using vacuum cleaner.
  • Clean the inner and outer surfaces of trolley with dry mop including wheels with clean lint free cloth till visually clean.
  • Finally wipe the entire surface including the wheels with 70 % IPA wetted lint free cloth and allow to air dry.
  • After cleaning, bring the trolley from the wash area to the designated storage area.Cleaning activities shall be recorded in the cleaning record.
  • Handling of idle Scoops and Spoons:
  • If any equipment/machine are idle for more than 6 days, affix the label, “Clean Before Use”.
  • Before affixing the label ensure that the scoops and spoons are properly cleaned.
  • Before usage cleaning of scoops and spoons shall be performed as per the procedure.

CLEANING RECORD OF SCOOPS AND SPOONS

Q: How are used scoops, spoons, and utensils collected and labeled?

Ans: Used scoops, spoons, and utensils are collected in a polybag and affixed with a “TO BE CLEANED” status label. They are then transferred to the respective washing area in a trolley.

Q: How are scoops, spoons, and utensils cleaned?

Ans: The inner and outer surfaces of the scoops, spoons, and utensils are scrubbed thoroughly with a nylon scrubber/brush and washed with potable water until there is no visible residue of the previous product/material. They are then rinsed again with potable water and drained. Again rinse with purified water and dry with lint free cloth.

Q: How are scoops, spoons, and utensils disinfected?

Ans: They are wiped with a lint-free cloth soaked in 70% IPA and allowed to air dry.

Q: How is excess water removed from scoops, spoons, and utensils?

Ans: Excess water is removed by wiping with a dry lint-free cloth.
