2.0 EQUIPMENT / INSTRUMENT / SYSTEM: MAKE / MODEL
Make: Any suitable GMP-compliant make.
Model: To be finalized by AABBCC in consultation with the approved vendor.
The equipment shall be suitable for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and shall comply with the approved User Requirements Specification.
The Fluid Bed Dryer shall be designed for efficient and controlled drying of wet granules or other approved pharmaceutical materials.
3.0 PURPOSE OF EQUIPMENT / INSTRUMENT / SYSTEM
The Fluid Bed Dryer shall be used for drying of wet granules and other suitable pharmaceutical materials generated during tablet manufacturing operations.
The equipment shall facilitate:
- Controlled drying of wet granules.
- Uniform distribution of heated and filtered air through the product.
- Removal of moisture from wet granules.
- Achievement of the specified final moisture content / Loss on Drying (LOD).
- Controlled and reproducible drying cycles.
- Prevention of contamination and cross-contamination.
- Controlled inlet and outlet air conditions.
- Safe collection and discharge of dried material.
- Easy cleaning, inspection, dismantling and reassembly.
- Consistent drying performance between batches.
The equipment shall be designed for use in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and shall be suitable for GMP operations.
4.0 CAPACITY / OUTPUT / DRYING PERFORMANCE
The Fluid Bed Dryer shall have adequate capacity to meet the manufacturing batch-size requirements of AABBCC.
