CLEANING OF CHEMICAL AND INSTRUMENT LABORATORY

  • OBJECTIVE:

To lay down the procedure for cleaning of chemical and instrument laboratory.

  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for the procedure for cleaning of chemical and instrument laboratoryat {Company Name} {Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Officer/Executive/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for cleaning the instrument as per SOP.
  • Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

             QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
  • For cleaning: Ensure that floor cleaning is performed as per the following schedule
    • Clean the floor with the help of a soft nylon broom.
    • Wet mop the floor with the help of a clean cloth moistens with a disinfectant solution.
    • Cleaning of platform and working tables: Ensure that cleaning of platform and working table is performed as per the following schedule.
      • Wet mop the platform/working tables with help of a clean cloth moisten with Dettol solution.
      • Dry mop the platform/working tables with the help of clean dry cloth.
      • Clean racks and reagent bottles on working tables with clean dry cloth at every weekend.
    • Cleaning of walls and ceiling:
      • Dry mop the wall and ceiling with the help of clean dry cloth.
    • Cleaning of doors and windows:
      • Dry mop the doors and windows with the help of clean dry cloth.
