A cantilever octagonal blender is a type of industrial blender that uses an octagonal-shaped mixing vessel mounted on a cantilever arm. The cantilever arm allows the vessel to tilt and rotate, which creates a tumbling motion that efficiently blends dry ingredients together.
CLEANINGPROCEDURE:
TYPE “A” CLEANING:
Ensure that the status label shall be updated as “TO BE CLEANED”.
Ensure that mains to the machine area are switched off before cleaning.
Remove labels, materials, and containers of previous batch from the blending area.
Remove all the adhered material from the outer surface of the octagonal blender and unit using vacuum cleaner, wipe with dry lint free cloth.
Open the rectangular lid and wipe the inner surface of the blender shell with dry lint free cloth.
Ensure that no adhering material will be seen on the surface of the blender shell and body of the blender.
After completion of cleaning update, the status label as CLEANED.
Record the cleaning details in equipment logbook as per SOP.
FREQUENCY: After every batch of the same product.
TYPE “B” CLEANING:
Ensure that status label shall be updated as “TO BE CLEANED”.
Switch off the mains of octagonal blender and cover all the electrical points with polythene cover.
Remove any material, labels, and containers of previous product from the octagonal blender area.
Dismantle the rectangular window lid with baffle by unclamping ring nuts using spanner.
CAUTION: While unbolting the lid make sure that it is supported.
Remove the gasket from the rectangular window and wipe with dry lint free cloth.
Dismantle pneumatic butterfly valve from the blender by unclamp the TC clamp.
Keep all dismantle parts on SS pallet, cover with poly bag.
Affixed to the “TO BE CLEANED” label.
Transfer the cleaned parts to the washing area for cleaning.
CLEANING OF BLENDER SHELL AND AREA:
Remove any adhering material from the octagonal blender using vacuum cleaner.
Clean the 5/10/20ltrs blender shell with 30L of potable water by using nylon scrubber until no adherent material is seen.
Clean the blender shell of 40/60/85 ltrs with 80Ltrs of potable water by using nylon scrubber to remove the adhering material.
Rinse the blender shell of 5/10/20 ltrs with 20L of potable water.
Rinse the blender shell of 40/60/85 ltrs with 40L of potable water.
Finally rinse the octagonal blender shell of 5/10/20ltrs with 30L of purified water.
Finally rinse the octagonal blender shell of 40/60/85ltrs with 50L of purified water.
Wipe the blender shell with dry lint free cloth and allow to dry.
Remove the polythene bag fixed to the electrical points and wipe them with dry lint free cloth.
Wipe the control panel, blender frame with lint free cloth dipped in purified water followed by wipe with dry lint free cloth.
Wipe the railing, control panel with lint free cloth dipped in purified water, wipe with dry lint free cloth.
Mop the area with disinfectant solution.
CLEANING OF RECTANGULAR LID, BUTTERFLY VALVE AND BAFFLE:
Wash the dismantled parts with 50L of potable water by using nylon scrubber until no adherent material is seen.
Rinse with the above parts with 30L of potable water.
Finally rinse the parts with 50L of Purified water.
Finally wipe the parts with dry lint free cloth and allow to dry.
Assemble the dismantled parts in the reverse order of dismantling.
Close all the open parts using stretch film.
The status label shall be updated as “CLEANED”.
NOTE: Care is to be taken so that no water enters into the control panel and gearbox assembly.
CLEANING OF SS BINS/CANISTERS:
Wash the SS bins/Canisters with 50 ltrs of potable water by using nylon scrubber until no adherent material is present. Again, rinse with 30 L quantity of potable water to the SS bins.
Finally rinse the parts with 30 Ltrs of purified water.
Dry the SS bins by wipe with dry lint free cloth.
The status label shall be updated as “CLEANED”.
Record the cleaning details in equipment logbook.
Note for Type B Cleaning:
For Type B Cleaning first clean the equipment with lint free cloth then after clean with potable water. If needed the equipment surface can be rubbed with nylon brush or lint free cloth. If a product is not clean with water, then a cleaning agent can be added in potable water. Then after rinse with potable water and followed the rinsing of equipment with purified water. After rinsing equipment shall be dry with compressed air then wipe with lint free cloth. After drying the surface of equipment shall be wiped with 70% IPA.
Frequency:
After every batch of the same product from higher to lower strength and lower to higher strength.
For Product-to-Product changeovers.
Major breakdown of equipment.
As when required.
