ABOUT COOLING TOWER
Cooling towers are essential components in the pharmaceutical industry, playing a crucial role in maintaining optimal operating temperatures for various processes. They function by transferring heat from a water-based fluid to the atmosphere through a process of evaporation. This heat removal is vital for preventing equipment overheating and ensuring the smooth operation of critical manufacturing processes.
By efficiently dissipating excess heat, cooling towers contribute to energy conservation and environmental sustainability within pharmaceutical facilities. They are commonly used in conjunction with chillers and other refrigeration systems to create precise temperature control for sensitive pharmaceutical products.
PROCEDURE:
PRECAUTIONS
Check the cooling tower water level which should be above half level, if needed fill with water.
Ensure that the suction and delivery valves of cooling water pump are open.
Check the Main power supply is available.
Check for any abnormal noise in the fan, motor, drive shaft and gear reducer.
STARTING PROCEDURE
Switch on the input power supply of the cooling tower pumps.
Start the cooling tower pumps.
Start the cooling tower fans.
Record readings as per enclosed Annexure-I.
STOPPING PROCEDURE
Switch off the Cooling tower pumps.
Switch off the cooling tower fans.
Record readings as per enclosed Annexure-I.
