- OBJECTIVE:
- To lay down the procedure for cleaning of vacuum cleaner.
- SCOPE:
This SOP is applicable for the procedure for cleaning of vacuum cleaner at {Company Name} {Location}.
- RESPONSIBILITY:
- WH Executive/Designee – is responsible for ensuring compliance with the SOP.
- Head Warehouse – is responsible for compliance of the SOP.
- ACCOUNTABILITY:
QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.
- PROCEDURE:
- CLEANING PROCEDURE OF VACUUM CLEANER:
- Switch off the mains and remove the plug from the socket before opening the vacuum cleaner.
- Transfer the vacuum cleaner to wash area in a poly bag through material entry after affixing the status label “To be cleaned” as per the current version of SOP.
- Remove the poly bag.
- Dismantle the flexible hosepipe from the suction end of the body of the Vacuum cleaner.
- Detach the extension tubes from the hosepipe.
- Remove the disposable filter bag from the dirt buster bag.
- Collect the dust from the disposable filter bag and drain off after dissolving in the water.
- Clean the Dirt filter bag by gently beating to loosen and remove the dust and wash with water.
- After cleaning re-fix filter bag properly.Clean the exterior of the vacuum cleaner with wet cloth followed by dry lint free cloth.
- Wash the extension tubes, hosepipe, and the detachable accessories used with potable water.
- Drain the water completely from the accessories and finally wipe with lint free cloth.
- If required replace a new disposable filter bag in the dirt buster bag instead of old bag.
- Reassemble all the dismantled parts in the reverse order of dismantling.
- Transfer the cleaned vacuum cleaner to receiving area/cleaned area duly covered with poly bag after affixing the status label “Cleaned” as per current version of SOP.
CAUTION: Check that the hosepipe and extension tubes are dry before connecting it to the vacuum cleaner for application.
