CLEANING OF VERTICAL AUTOCLAVE Make: Equitron

  • OBJECTIVE:
  • To lay down a procedure for Cleaning of vertical autoclave, Make: Equitron.
  • SCOPE:
  • This SOP is applicable to the procedure for Cleaning of vertical autoclave, Make: Equitron used in the microbiology lab at {Company Name} {Location}.
  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Officer/Executive/Designee (QC) Micro. – Shall be responsible to perform the cleaning activity as per SOP.
  • Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.
  • CLEANING PROCEDURE OF VERTICAL AUTOCLAVE :
  • Make: Equitron
  • VERTICAL AUTOCLAVE: A vertical autoclave, also known as a top-loading autoclave or steam sterilizer, is a cylindrical chamber used for sterilization by steam under pressure.
  • Cleaning procedure:
  • Dedust the surface of the autoclave by using lint free cloth and followed by 70% IPA soaked with lint free cloth and record the activity in Format-I.
  • Use the drain valve to drain the machine of used distilled water.
  • Place suitable size vessel below the drain valve and open it.
  • The door gasket and mating surface should be wiped with a clean damp cloth. (Do not use abrasive cleaners on the gasket or mating surface)
  • Frequency: Daily after completion of the activity.
