This SOP is applicable for Color Codification of Utility Lines at {Company Name} {Location}.

Engineering Head- Technical correction, review, training & monitoring of SOP.

ABOUT COLOUR CODING:
Color codification of utility lines in the pharmaceutical industry is a critical safety and operational practice. Standardized colors visually identify the contents of pipes, reducing the risk of errors and cross-contamination, which can have severe consequences in drug manufacturing.
Consistent color coding facilitates efficient maintenance, emergency response, and training, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and minimizing potential hazards in pharmaceutical operations.
PROCEDURE:
The utility lines are identified and color coded based on the Indian national standards of color coding and identification of services.
The utility lines are color coded as per the following table given below:

7. | Steam Line | Silver Gray | Black |
8. | Diesel Line | Brown | White |
9. | Hot oil Line | Silver Gray | Red |
10. | Drain Line | Black | White |
11. | RO Water Line | Sky Blue | Red |
12. | Soft Water Line | Sea Green | Brown |
13. | Fire Hydrant Line | Red | White |
14. | Reject water | Black | Yellow |
Flow direction identification marks on the pipelines either by stickers or painted by an arrow pointing towards the direction of flow and utility.
