OPERATION OF CENTRIFUGE Make: REMI

  • OBJECTIVE:

To lay down the procedure for operation of centrifuge. Make: REMI

  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable to the procedure for Operation of centrifuge at {company Name} {Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Officer/Executive/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for operation as per SOP.
  • Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
    • Ensure that the equipment and working area is clean.
    • Connect the power cord to the power socket and Switch “ON” the mains.
    • Switch on the motor by using the red colour switch present on front panel of the equipment. The switch glows in red colour.
    • Open the upper lid by releasing the lock and lifting it up.
    • Place the centrifuge tubes in the compartment provided for it.
    • The compartment is designed in such a way to place twelve centrifuge tubes at a time.
    • Now Press and hold the TIME soft key present at the bottom left corner on front panel of the equipment to set the required time. Once the required time is reached release the soft key.
    • Now slowly rotate the black colour knob present on the front panel of the equipment in clockwise direction to set the required RPM.
    • Once the set time is completed the instrument stops automatically.
    • Now open the upper lid by releasing the lock and lifting it up and remove the centrifuge tubes.
    • Close the lid and rotate the black colour knob in an anticlockwise direction to its initial position.

Note: Avoid opening of lid when the equipment is in operation. In case of emergency switch off motor and switch on the Brake to open the lid.
