OPERATION OF CYCLO MIXER Make: IKA

  • OBJECTIVE:
  • To lay down the procedure for operation of Cyclomixer. Make: IKA
  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable to the procedure for Operation of Cyclomixer. Make: IKA at {Company Name} {Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Officer/Executive/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for operation as per SOP.
  • Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

             QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
  • Ensure that the instrument is clean and free from dust.
  • Set up the cyclo mixer in a spacious area on an even, stable, non-slip and fire proof surface. Switch “ON” the mains
  • Note: Ensure that the power cord is connected to the power socket.
  • Place the Volumetric flask or test tube containing a mixture of sample which shall be mixed on vibrator.
  • Select the mode of operation Direct on/Load.
  • Direct on: By this the vibrator will start directly & the regulator can control speed
  • Load: By this means the unit will start only when the rubber top is loaded by tube with gentle press on the rubber top.
  • Position the knob desired mode and gradually increase the speed by rotating the knob clockwise.
  • If the shaking movement of the mixer increases (resonance), reduce the speed or pass through the critical phase as quickly as possible.
  • Reduce the speed by using rotating the knob anti clockwise if
  • The medium splashes out of the vessel because the speed is too high.
  • The mixer is not running smoothly.
  • After completion of mixing switch “OFF” the mains.
  • Precautions:
  • Keep the sample containers as vertical as possible.
  • Do not operate the appliance in an explosive atmosphere, with hazardous substances or under water.
  • Always disconnect the plug before fitting the accessories.
  • Position one single shaking vessel in the center and several shaking vessels so that they are evenly spread out.
  • The appliance is not suitable for manual operation.
