- PROCEDURE FOR THE OPERATION OF MIST SHOWER:
- A mist shower is a special chamber used for personnel leaving a cleanroom. It sprays a fine mist of water to gently wet the surface of their protective clothing. This serves two purposes:
- Traps contaminants and
- Protects from shedding.
- Traps contaminants: By wetting the surface of the garments, any loose powders or particles are trapped and adhere to the clothing instead of becoming airborne. This minimizes the risk of spreading contamination outside the cleanroom.
- Protects from shedding: Dry particles can easily shed from clothing during the de-gowning process. The mist shower helps prevent this by dampening the garments and reducing the chance of particles becoming airborne.
- Operating Panel at Entrance: The operating panel at the entrance has the following function buttons.
- Power Reset
- Start
- Power ON
- Emergency stop button
- Exhaust filter blocked light
- Door open push button
- Alarm Ack
- Operating panel at wash chamber: The operating panel at wash chamber has the following function buttons.
- System starts.
- Indication Lamp (Entry door locked)
- Emergency stop button.
- Power reset
- Alarm Ack
- Exit door open push button.
- OPERATION:
- Note: Before entering the mist shower chamber ensure the PAPR mask is connected with battery operated breathing air.
- Press the power reset push button on the entrance door. Power On indication will come ON. The alarms and interlocks system will be active.
- Press the Start push button on the entrance door.
- Check and ensure that the chamber pressure is less than -5Pa.The fan will run at normal operating speed. Internal lights are operational.
- Press Entry door open push button, then the entry door will opens and now enter in to the mist shower chamber.
- Ensure that the entry door locked displayed by green light indication on the operating panel.
- Now press system start button. The pump will start, and the actuated valves will operate in sequence.
- Press the Ward robe door open button then the door will open. Keep any documents in this box and close the door.
- Now move and stand facing to shower nozzles with hands raised up.
- The shower will start in following sequence.
- Mist shower (Water+ compressed air)
- Water shower.
- Compressed air shower.
- Once the residual water on the PPE is drained off, the operator has to remove the PPE, open the pass box and put the PPE in the basket with poly bag.
- The operator has to seal the poly bag and close the pass box.
- Now press the Exit door open button and exit from the mist shower.
- Remove the hand gloves and put it on waste bin.
- Transfer the PPE in the poly bag to garment washing area for washing.
- Now the exit door will closes and fan, light will be off and the system will ready for the next use.
