OPERATION OF SAND BUCKETS

• OBJECTIVE:

 To describe a standard operating procedure for Operation of sand buckets.

• SCOPE:

This Procedure is applicable for Operation of sand buckets at {Company Name} {Company Location}.

• RESPONSIBILITY:

• All the employees working in the plant.

• Safety In-charge to ensure the Compliance of the procedure.

• ACCOUNTABILITY:

QA Manager shall be accountable for Approval & Implementation of SOP.

• PROCEDURE:

• When the fire breaks out pick the sand buckets which are provided in the immediate vicinity of that area.

• Ensure that the information reaches the security or nearby supervisor, while extinguishing the fire.

• Spread the sand on the material, which is under fire, effectively from one end to other.

• Ask for more Number of sand buckets from nearby other locations if the situation demands.

• Once the fire is put off, the Safety department should be informed.

• The EHS department shall get the buckets refilled with sand and made ready for use.

• Do not put any material nearby sand bucket for any obstruction.

• Safety personnel should check the Sand buckets weekly and enter the data in “Location of sand buckets” in Annexure- I.
