OPERATION OF UV CABINET

  • OBJECTIVE:
  • To lay down the procedure for operation of UV- cabinet.
  • SCOPE:
  • This SOP is applicable to the procedure for Operation of UV- cabinet at {Company Name} {Location}.
  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Officer/Executive/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for operation as per SOP.
  • Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
    • Ensure that the Instrument is clean and free from dust.
    • Connect the power supply and switch on the Instrument.
    • Open the Cabinet and place the TLC plate inside the chamber and close the chamber.
    • Three switches (red colored) are provided on the right side corner of the instrument.
  • Do not look into the burning UV lamp.
  • Do not use organic solvents for cleaning of the Instrument.
    • Select the required UV light and switch on the instrument.
    • Observe the plate for visualization of the spot from the observation compartment (Glass window)
    • Switch off the Instrument after the visualization of the plate.
    • General precautions:
  • Do not look into the burning UV lamp.
  • Do not use organic solvents for cleaning of the Instrument.
