In pharmaceutical applications, a dehumidifier plays a crucial role in maintaining a controlled environment, ensuring the quality and stability of products. By removing excess moisture from the air, dehumidifiers prevent mold growth, bacterial contamination, and degradation of sensitive materials. In cleanrooms, laboratories, and storage areas, dehumidifiers help maintain a relative humidity (RH) level between 30-60%, as required by regulatory standards.
Preventive Maintenance Check List of Dehumidifier:
Department: Engineering Equipment Name: Dehumidifier Equip. No./ID: Frequency: Quarterly
S. No | Check Points | Procedure | Activity | Done By / Date |
1. | Check the AHU and dehumidifier damper Position. | By physical verification of the AHU and dehumidifier damper as per standard marking.
2. | Check the condition of all the access panels’ gasket. | By Physical verification of the panel gasket and if found worn out replace the same.
3. | Check the condition of the Desiccant bed | By Physical verification, if found dust accumulation clean with bed with low pressure air
4. | Check all the rotating parts and accessories | Observe the rotation of the chain/belt, if found improper rotation then adjusts the chain/belt with a suitable tool.
5. | Check the gear motor and gear box bearings | Physically observe for any abnormal sound and also observe the motor end covers for hot. If observed any of these abnormalities bearings shall be replaced.
6. | Check the seal which separates the process compartment from the reactivation compartment | By physical verification of the seal and if seal found not in alignment, align the same.
7. | Check the condition of all the access panels’ gasket. | By Physical verification of the panel gasket and if found worn out replace the same.
8. | Check all the bolts and nuts of the cover. | By physical verification if found any bolts mis sing the same shall be replaced
9. | Check the reactivation air and process air filters | By physical verification if found filter chock clean with compressed air.
10. | Check the terminals of the heater bank. | By physical verification, if found loose tighten or found burnt wire replace the same.
11. | Clean the Control panel | Clean with Vacuum cleaner and ensure that the panel is cleaned thoroughly.
12. | Ensure the earthing of motor. | Check the earthing wires for proper connection.
13. | Check & tighten the motor terminals, control wiring terminals, indication lamps and OLR setting | Physical verification and loosen wires shall be tightened with tester.
14. | Check the Motor Voltage and Amperage and heaters amperes | By using a Clamp meter ensure that they are within the acceptable Limit with respect to motor rating.
