- To describe a standard operating procedure for Dry Chemical Powder Type Fire Extinguisher.
- SCOPE:
- This Procedure is applicable for Dry Chemical Powder Type Fire Extinguisher at {Company Name} {Company Location}.

- PROCEDURE:
- Definition: Fire Extinguisher: A fire extinguisher is a device used to put out fire, often in an emergency.
- The Dry Chemical Powder type Fire Extinguisher can be used for Extinguishing the B & C class Fires involving Liquids & gaseous substance like Petrol, Diesel, Solvent, LPG, Hydrogen & Acetylene etc. The Dry chemical powder Fire Extinguisher can be used for Electrical fires also.
- Dry chemical powder fire extinguishers work by smothering the fire and interrupting the chemical reaction that sustains it. The powder is expelled from the extinguisher under pressure, coating the burning materials and creating a barrier between the fuel and oxygen. This prevents the fire from spreading and extinguishes it.
- When the fire breaks out from the Liquids, gaseous & Electrical take the DCP type fire extinguisher, which is provided, in the immediate vicinity of the area.
- After reaching near to the fire, punch the knob the dry chemical powder coming out of the Extinguisher should be pointed towards the inner edge of the liquids, gaseous fire a blanket layer has to be formed over the gaseous fire.
- The empty Extinguishers should be kept in lay down position after use and the SHE Department should be informed.
- SHE Department shall get it refilled and keep it ready for further use.
