PROCEDURE FOR PIPELINE COLOUR CODING

  • OBJECTIVE:

To lay down a procedure for pipeline color coding.

  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for pipeline color coding at {Company Name} {Company Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Technical Assistant – Engineering: To perform the operation of equipment as per the SOP.
  • HOD/In charge Engineering: To ensure and compliance the operation as per the procedure.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • PROCEDURE:
  • Colour coding for the pipeline shall be carried out as per the below table.

  • The width of colour band shall be as follows :

  • The Colour coding shall be done at the start and termination points of pipe line and the distance between the two bands shall not be more than 50 meters.
  • Pipelines are marked with red colour arrow according to the direction of flow on every pipeline.
  • Keep the colour coding board at the entrance to the technical area and wherever required.
