SOP FOR HANDLING OF LINEN

  • OBJECTIVE:

To lay down a procedure for Handling of Linen.

  • SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for Handling of Linen at {Company Name} {Company Location}.

  • RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervisor shall be responsible for follow the instruction as per procedure.

HR Manager/Designee shall be responsible for review, technical correction, training & monitoring of SOP.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY:

QA Manager and HR Manager/Designee shall be accountable for the implementation and compliance of this SOP.

  • PROCEDURE:
  • Procurement of new uniform:
  • As per the requirement of the concerned departments, department shall raised the indent for procurement of new uniforms.
  • The color code of the uniforms shall be followed as per respective SOP.
  • At the time of receiving the new uniform department shall check the quality of fabric (i.e. stitching and colour code), if found unsatisfactory return to the vendor for correction.
  • Send all the new uniforms for washing before use.
  • Washed uniform shall be kept in linen room.
  • Stock shall be maintained of all uniforms as per Annexure-II.
  • Distribution of uniform:
  • Supervisor shall physically ensure the cleanliness of uniforms before distribution.
  • Uniforms shall be distributed to all concerned departments as per color code before starting each shift or as and when required.
  • Distributed uniforms shall be placed in the available Almirah/locker in the respective change rooms.
  • Collection of used uniform.
  • Wear nose mask and hand gloves during handling of used uniforms.
  • Check all pockets of uniforms count and collect the used uniforms in separate poly bags from respective change rooms.
  • Washing of uniform:
  • Send all used uniform for washing on daily basis after end of the shift to the outside vendor & make the record in format as per Annexure-I.
  • Unused uniforms shall be rewashed if not used within a week.
  • Collection of washed uniform:
  • Receive the washed uniform from the vendor, check the cleanliness and count the uniforms, if found satisfactory then place the washed uniform in the linen room.
  • If found cleanliness unsatisfactory then take corrective and preventive action as per respective SOP.
  • Destruction of uniform:
  • Uniform shall be destroyed if found torn and disfigured.
  • Cut all disposable uniform in pieces, kept in poly bag and disposed of in scrap yard.
