OPERATING PROCEDURE OF HOT WATER GENERATOR

  • PROCEDURE:
  • Checks to be carried out before starting the Hot water generation system.
  • Check the Main power supply is available.
  • Check the water level in the makeup tank and if needed fill up to the level.
  • Check and ensure that the hot water inlet and outlet valves are in open condition.
  • Check the steam line outlet valve should be in opened condition in Pressure Reducing Station (PRDS) and ensure the steam pressure NMT 3.0 Kg/Cm2.
  • Ensure the availability of compressed air pressure NMT 4.0 Kg/Cm2
  • STARTING PROCEDURE:
  • Switch ‘ON’ the control supply of the PID controller.
  • Switch ‘ON’ hot water circulation pump.
  • Set the temperature on the PID controller 50°C, + 10°C by using the UP and DOWN arrow keys on PID controller.
  • Open the steam line inlet valve.
  • When temperature reaches set temperature in the hot water return line PID cutoff the steam supply.
  • When the temperature reaches below set temperature in the hot Water return line PID SWITCH ON the steam supply.
  • SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
  • Don’t open the PRV inlet steam valve while the water circulation pumps in ‘OFF’ position.
  • Don’t carry any maintenance works while the system is running, or steam and hot water pressurized in the pipelines.
  • STOPPING PROCEDURE
  • Close the PRV inlet steam valve.
  • Close the compressed air valve.
  • Switch ‘OFF’ the control supply to the PID controller.
  • After the water temperature comes 40 º C switches OFF the hot water recirculation Pump.
  • Record the parameters every two hours as per Annexure-I.
