OPERATION OF COOLING TOWER

• PROCEDURE:

• Precautions:
• Check the cooling tower water level which should be above half level, if need fill with softener water.
• Ensure that the suction and delivery valves of cooling water pump are open.
• Check the Main power supply is available.
• Check for any abnormal noise in the fan, motor, drive shaft and gear reducer.
• Starting Procedure:
• Switch on the input power supply of the cooling tower pumps.
• Start the cold water circulation pumps one by one based on plant load.
• Start the cooling tower fans.
• Record readings as per Annexure-I.
•  Stopping Procedure:
• Switch off the cold water circulation pumps.
• Switch off the cooling tower fans.
• Record readings as per enclosed Annexure-I.
