OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for trend preparation of water and Environmental Monitoring data.
SCOPE:
This SOP is applicable for the procedure for trend preparation of water and Environmental Monitoring data at {Company Name} {Location}.
RESPONSIBILITY:
In charge- Microbiology- is responsible to ensure compliance as per SOP.
Head/Designee Quality Control – Shall be responsible for ensuring compliance as per SOP.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
QA Head shall be Accountable for implementation of SOP.
ABOUT TREND ANALYSIS:
In the pharmaceutical industry, trend preparation for water and environmental monitoring is crucial for maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance. This involves rigorous sample collection, testing, and data analysis to identify patterns and deviations.
Key trends include implementing real-time monitoring systems, automating data acquisition, and using advanced software for statistical analysis. There’s also a focus on developing risk-based monitoring programs, incorporating rapid microbiological methods, and ensuring data integrity to meet stringent regulatory expectations and ensure patient safety.
PROCEDURE:
Data Summarization
Summarization for Environmental Monitoring result Data:
For Environmental Monitoring Trend Preparation follows the frequency as per SOP.
Summarize the Environment monitoring results (date wise) for total microbial count of the area in Microsoft excel sheet as per Format-I.
Summarize the data for specified period based on the frequency as per the Format-III.
Summarization of Water test result Data:
For Preparation of Water Trend follow the frequency as per SOP.
Summarize the water test results (date wise) for pH, conductivity, TOC, TAMC of the water system in Microsoft excel sheet as per Format-II.
Summarize the data for specified period based on the frequency as per the Format-III.
Trend Preparation:
Preparation of Graphical Charts.
Prepare the trend charts of individual parameters using summarized data in Microsoft excel.
In the trend chart the X-axis should contain the dates and Y-axis should contain the test parameter units.
Define the alert, action and specification limits (as appropriate) in the chart.
In case of any changes in sampling location like addition, deletion and modification (not limited to) same should be mentioned in the trend summary report.In case of any addition of new sampling location, the number will be allotted serially.
In case of deletion of any sampling location the same number will not be repeated in the monitoring formats.

In case of out of trends counts observed for environmental monitoring and water Samples, same shall be captured in trends summary report with justifications.
The requirements for revisiting the alert and action limit shall be considered in annual trend analysis.
The group leader should review the individual trend chart for their correctness and completeness and Sign with date.
The section head or designee should verify the trends and investigation reports if any and summary by signing with date.
After approval of section head or designee, send the trend data and summary report to QA.
